UNBEETABREW™ is not simply coffee with a few “superfoods” added.
It was formulated as a quantified performance and health boost beverage built around several distinct nutritional inputs that can actually be measured:
- 5 g concentrated beet juice powder standardized to 5% nitrate
- ~250 mg naturally occurring dietary nitrate
- ~4.0 mmol nitrate
- 1,500 mg PeakO2® six-mushroom performance blend
- 75 mg caffeine
- Pure L-theanine
- Pure D-ribose
- Himalayan pink salt
The point of publishing these numbers is simple: ingredient names alone do not tell you whether a formula contains a meaningful amount of anything.
A consumer should be able to distinguish between “contains beet” and “provides approximately 250 mg nitrate,” or between “contains mushrooms” and “provides 1,500 mg of a specifically studied mushroom complex.”
The Core UNBEETABREW™ Formula by the Numbers
| Component | Amount Per Serving | What the Number Means |
|---|---|---|
| 5% nitrate beet juice powder | 5,000 mg | Concentrated beet ingredient standardized for nitrate |
| Naturally occurring nitrate | ~250 mg | Calculated from 5,000 mg × 5% |
| Nitrate in research units | ~4.03 mmol | The unit commonly used in human nitrate research |
| PeakO2® | 1,500 mg | Six-mushroom performance complex |
| Caffeine | 75 mg | Moderate stimulant and cognitive dose |
| L-theanine | Included | Paired with caffeine for the focus component of the formula |
| D-Ribose | Included | D-ribose used in cellular adenine-nucleotide metabolism |
5 Grams of 5% Nitrate Beet = Approximately 250 mg Natural Nitrate
This is the first major piece of the formula that should be understood quantitatively.
UNBEETABREW™ contains:
5,000 mg of beet juice powder standardized to approximately 5% naturally occurring nitrate.
The calculation is:
5,000 mg × 5% = ~250 mg nitrate
That means the beet component contains approximately:
50 mg nitrate per gram of beet juice powder.
This is a much more useful number than simply saying that the product “contains beet.”
What Does ~4.0 mmol Nitrate Mean?
Dietary-nitrate research frequently reports nitrate in millimoles, abbreviated mmol, rather than milligrams.
For nitrate:
1 mmol nitrate ≈ 62 mg nitrate
Therefore:
250 mg ÷ 62 mg/mmol ≈ 4.03 mmol nitrate
So 250 mg nitrate and approximately 4.0 mmol nitrate are simply two ways of describing the same dose.
This matters because human beetroot and nitrate research generally reports doses in mmol.
A systematic review of nitrate and high-intensity endurance performance included acute nitrate doses ranging from approximately 4.1 to 15.2 mmol and chronic protocols ranging from approximately 4.0 to 13 mmol per day.
View the systematic review of nitrate dose and high-intensity exercise performance
Another human cycling study used approximately 4.1 mmol nitrate per day for three days while examining hemodynamics, fatigue, and exercise tolerance.
View the 4.1 mmol dietary-nitrate study
That does not mean 4 mmol is the maximum or universally optimal nitrate dose. Higher acute doses are also widely studied, and expert consensus has suggested approximately 8–16 mmol when nitrate is being used specifically to maximize acute ergogenic effects.

The important point for UNBEETABREW™ is that the beet is not present as a token flavor ingredient. It delivers a measurable ~250 mg / ~4.0 mmol dietary-nitrate payload, naturally!
A More Concentrated Beet Ingredient Than PureClean Beet™
UNBEETABREW™ and PureClean Beet™ use different nitrate concentrations.
PureClean Beet™ is standardized to approximately 3% nitrate:
30 mg nitrate per gram
The concentrated beet ingredient used in UNBEETABREW™ is standardized to approximately 5% nitrate:
50 mg nitrate per gram
The arithmetic is:
50 ÷ 30 ≈ 1.67
So the beet component used in UNBEETABREW™ is approximately 1.67× as nitrate-dense per gram, or about 67% more concentrated in nitrate, than a 3% nitrate beet ingredient.
This is why 5 g of the concentrated beet ingredient can provide approximately 250 mg nitrate.
1,500 mg PeakO2® — Not a Dusting of Mushrooms
Each serving of UNBEETABREW™ provides 1,500 mg, or 1.5 grams, of PeakO2®.
PeakO2® is a six-mushroom blend containing:
- Cordyceps militaris
- Reishi
- King Trumpet
- Shiitake
- Lion's Mane
- Turkey Tail
The dose matters because PeakO2® has actually been studied at gram-level quantities.
In a randomized 28-day human study, subjects consumed 1–2 g per day of PeakO2®. The treatment group experienced statistically significant improvements in time to fatigue and VO2peak together with reduced blood lactate during the exercise-economy phase.
UNBEETABREW™ provides:
1.5 g PeakO2® per serving
That places one serving directly in the middle of the 1–2 g/day range investigated in that 28-day study.
View the 28-day PeakO2® low-dose human study
A separate randomized, double-blind trial evaluated a Cordyceps militaris-containing mushroom blend at 4 g/day. After three weeks, the mushroom group showed an increase in VO2max of approximately 4.8 mL/kg/min and an improvement in time to exhaustion of approximately 70 seconds, while the placebo group did not show comparable changes.
View the Cordyceps-containing mushroom blend study on PubMed
The dose in that particular study was higher than the 1.5 g used in UNBEETABREW™, so its numerical results should not be treated as guaranteed outcomes from one serving of this product.
The more directly relevant comparison is the PeakO2® low-dose trial, because UNBEETABREW™ provides 1.5 g within the studied 1–2 g/day range.
What Is Actually Inside 1.5 g of PeakO2®?
The six mushrooms naturally provide several classes of bioactive compounds, including:
- beta-glucans and other mushroom polysaccharides
- ergothioneine
- reishi triterpenoids
- Cordyceps-associated nucleosides such as cordycepin
- Lion's Mane diterpenoid-type compounds
- other species-specific mushroom metabolites
These compounds are biologically interesting, but UNBEETABREW™ does not assign specific milligram values to beta-glucans, ergothioneine, triterpenes, cordycepin, or other naturally occurring mushroom compounds unless they are specifically standardized or analytically quantified.
The hard number we can responsibly publish is:
1,500 mg total PeakO2® mushroom complex per serving.
75 mg Caffeine: Deliberately Moderate, Not a Stimulant Bomb
UNBEETABREW™ provides 75 mg of caffeine per serving.
That is deliberately different from conventional high-stimulant pre-workouts that can contain 150, 200, 300 mg or more caffeine per serving.
UNBEETABREW™ does not depend on caffeine alone for its performance architecture.
The formula combines:
75 mg caffeine + ~250 mg nitrate + 1,500 mg PeakO2®
so stimulation, nitric-oxide biology, and mushroom-derived exercise support are separate components of the formula.
The International Society of Sports Nutrition notes that caffeine has established effects on alertness and exercise performance, although classical performance studies commonly use higher weight-adjusted doses than the 75 mg contained in UNBEETABREW™.

Research also suggests that lower caffeine doses can affect central nervous system function, vigilance, alertness, and aspects of exercise performance while generally producing fewer stimulant-related side effects than very high doses.
Review the research on low-dose caffeine and exercise
So the purpose of the 75 mg caffeine component is not to turn UNBEETABREW™ into another caffeine-heavy pre-workout.
It provides a moderate neural and cognitive input inside a broader performance formula.
Caffeine + L-Theanine: Why They Are Paired
UNBEETABREW™ also includes L-theanine alongside caffeine.
L-theanine has been studied both alone and in combination with caffeine for attention and cognitive performance.
In a placebo-controlled crossover trial, researchers compared L-theanine, caffeine, and their combination and found measurable effects on cognitive and neurophysiological measures of attention.
View the human L-theanine + caffeine attention study
The exact L-theanine amount in UNBEETABREW™ should be interpreted from the current production specification rather than inferred from doses used in unrelated studies.
The important formulation principle is that caffeine and L-theanine are present together rather than caffeine being used as the only cognitive ingredient.
D-Ribose: A Different Energy Pathway
UNBEETABREW™ also contains D-ribose.
D-ribose is a naturally occurring five-carbon sugar used in the biochemical pathway responsible for synthesizing and restoring adenine nucleotides—the molecular family that includes ATP.
This is mechanistically different from caffeine.
Caffeine primarily changes neural signaling and perceived stimulation.
Ribose participates in the biochemical pathway used to rebuild adenine nucleotides.
In a randomized human study involving repeated high-intensity training, ribose supplementation accelerated restoration of muscle ATP compared with placebo by 72 hours, although it did not significantly improve peak or mean power in that experiment.
View the human D-ribose and muscle ATP resynthesis study
Other ribose studies have produced mixed performance results, which is why UNBEETABREW™ should not be described as if D-ribose by itself guarantees greater exercise performance.
Its more defensible role is as a cellular-energy substrate within a multi-pathway formula.
Coffee Provides More Than Caffeine
The Arabica coffee component naturally contains compounds beyond caffeine, particularly chlorogenic acids and other coffee polyphenols.
These naturally occurring polyphenols are one reason coffee should not be nutritionally reduced to its caffeine number alone.
However, chlorogenic-acid content varies with bean variety, processing, roasting, extraction, and production lot.
For that reason, we do not assign an exact milligram quantity of chlorogenic acids to UNBEETABREW™ unless the finished coffee ingredient has been analytically tested or standardized for those compounds.
The hard standardized number remains:
75 mg caffeine per serving.
Beet Also Provides More Than Nitrate
The high-nitrate beet component naturally contains other beet-derived compounds, including:
- betalains
- betacyanins
- phenolic compounds
- naturally occurring antioxidants
- minerals and other beet phytonutrients
Like coffee polyphenols and mushroom bioactives, their exact levels can vary naturally between agricultural lots.
That is why we distinguish between:
standardized compounds we can calculate
and
naturally occurring phytonutrients that are present but not assigned invented milligram quantities.
Three Major Performance Inputs, Three Different Biological Pathways
The central UNBEETABREW™ formula can be understood as three primary quantified inputs:
1. Nitric-Oxide Substrate
~250 mg nitrate / ~4.0 mmol
Dietary nitrate enters the nitrate → nitrite → nitric-oxide pathway involved in vascular signaling, circulation, and skeletal-muscle physiology.
2. Mushroom Performance Matrix
1,500 mg PeakO2®
This dose sits directly within the 1–2 g/day range investigated in the 28-day PeakO2® human study.
3. Neural/Cognitive Input
75 mg caffeine
A moderate caffeine dose provides a separate central-nervous-system signal without requiring the formula to rely on a massive stimulant load.
L-theanine and D-ribose then add additional cognitive and cellular-energy pathways rather than simply increasing the caffeine dose.

Why We Publish the Numbers
The functional-coffee and pre-workout markets are crowded with terms such as adaptogenic, superfood, performance, energy, focus, mushroom coffee, nitric oxide, resilience, and mitochondrial support.
Those words can describe an intended purpose, but they do not tell you how much of an active ingredient is actually present.
UNBEETABREW™ can be described much more objectively:
5,000 mg of 5% nitrate beet juice powder → ~250 mg naturally occurring nitrate → ~4.0 mmol nitrate
1,500 mg PeakO2® → a gram-level six-mushroom dose directly within the 1–2 g/day range investigated in human research
75 mg caffeine → a deliberately moderate stimulant dose rather than a high-caffeine pre-workout load
plus L-theanine and D-Ribose as additional cognitive and cellular-energy components.
That is the nutritional architecture of UNBEETABREW™.
~250 mg nitrate + 1,500 mg PeakO2® + 75 mg caffeine
rather than a list of wellness ingredients whose quantities are impossible to evaluate.
UNBEETABREW™ contains naturally derived beet, coffee, mushroom, and botanical ingredients. Standardized or directly specified quantities are reported numerically where available. Naturally occurring compounds such as betalains, polyphenols, beta-glucans, ergothioneine, triterpenoids, and other phytonutrients can vary by agricultural and production lot and should not be interpreted as fixed quantities unless specifically standardized or analytically measured.
