What are berries?
Did you know that berries are actually plant eggs? Yummy! Because of this, biologically speaking for humans, eating leafy greens and the plants themselves may be the worst source of "sustainable" nutrition. In reality, leaves don't want to get eaten, they are essential to the plant's life and quality of life. And for humans, specially, they often contain hard to digest nutrient ratios, structures and even things like oxalates (found in spinach, kale, etc.) which are toxins. Strict herbivores can do well eating plants as they are designed to do so, but human sadly are not herbivores so while they can 100% survive on plants and extracts the nutrients, they will struggle and this comes at a hidden deeper cost. When we think of berries as the eggs of the plant, much like the eggs to a chicken, we realize they are a much better choice of nutrients and better to digest and assimilate this nutrition vs. the "skin or feathers" of the plant, the leafy greens. Berries contain nutrients need to sustain the life and help the seed inside grow and reproduce! But what are berries? Actually, we tend to think of a berries as something sweet, but many vegetables you think ARE vegetables are actually berries/fruits instead! Squash, cucumber, pumpkin, bell peppers (watch our for histamine) are some surprising ones you may find on this list. A berry, in short, has seeds it doesn't have to be sweet. The seed is like the chicken ready to be developed by the nutrients of the berry. This is why we at PureClean Performance are leaning a bit more away from eating more leafy greens and focusing on more beef liver, berries and fruits, and meat.
