Will FundAminos keep me up or act as a stimulant?
Not at all. FundAminos contains no stimulants or caffeine. In fact, it includes a full clinical serving of tart cherry, which has a calming effect and supports recovery. Beyond that, it’s just essential amino acids, organic berry powder, and a bit of monk fruit. Many athletes even take FundAminos before bed during heavy training or injury repair to keep amino acid levels steady overnight.
Can FundAminos be used as a pre-run or pre-race fuel?
Yes—FundAminos is effective before, during, and after a race. For additional glucose support, we recommend blending FundAminos with a clean carb mix during long races or prior to most events. Here’s why:
- Essential amino acids significantly enhance muscle recovery.
- They provide sustained energy and boost fatigue resistance.
- Unlike protein, EAAs require no digestion and are used within ~15 minutes by muscles.
This means FundAminos primes your muscles right when the race begins and helps prevent fatigue and burnout as the event goes on.
What are your thoughts on energy gels and carb loading?
Sugar and carbs do provide quick energy, but their long-term use comes at a cost to health and peak performance. That’s why we recommend athletes use a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) to see how their diet and fueling strategies actually impact them.
Energy gels and carb mixes provide easy glucose, which the body uses for energy, but they are less ideal for sustained efforts beyond a couple hours. As an athlete, you need to protect and fuel your body intelligently. That’s why we always ensure our fueling strategy includes FundAminos—before, possibly during, and certainly after a race.
Shhh… don’t tell anyone the secret if you want to beat them.
