Weed, Fat, & Peanut Butter (An interesting truth)
You might know that peanut butter is high (no pun intended) in Omega 6 fats. What you probably don't know is that Omega 6 fats stimulate endocannabinoid receptors inside your body like the compound, THC, inside the ganja.
No, this does not mean that eating a lot of peanut butter will have the same effect as THC. But, peanut butter and other such foods high in Omega 6 fats can give you legit munchies. That's right, Omega 6 fats are like weed!
It's best to limit your intake of foods high in Omega 6 because not only do they put you at risk for weight gain, they also can cause unhealthy inflammation and damage your liver.
We know, we love peanut butter, too!* :( There is hope, though. Macadamia nut butter is really low in Omega 6 oils and quite good and good for you.
On a more serious note: it is very important to make sure you know your Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio because a high Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio further drives chronic diseases like obesity, hypertension, and cancer.
It's not that Omega 6 oils are evil, it's just that many people consume way too many of them, mostly in vegetable oil form. And that's when it becomes a problem.
