Daily beetroot juice could help people with common heart conditions
A regular glass of beetroot juice can reduce signs of inflammation in blood vessels that are known to be increased in people with coronary heart disease, according to new research funded and presented at the British Cardiovascular Society conference in Manchester.

Nitric oxide regulates blood pressure and has important anti-inflammatory effects. However, nitric oxide declines as we age and especially in people with heart and circulatory conditions. Why? Simply because the enzyme that produces it is less active.
Researchers at Queen Mary University of London investigated whether a daily beetroot juice high (keyword high!) in inorganic nitrate would increase levels of nitric oxide in a different way, and whether this would impact inflammation.
The study volunteers drank 140ml beetroot juice every morning for seven days – half of them drank juice that was high in nitrate while the other half drank juice that had the nitrate removed.
The result?
Immune cells became more anti-inflammatory....[they] had more nitric oxide in their blood, urine, and saliva compared to those that consumed the low nitrate juice. They also had a healthier immune system and the beet juice appeared to restore the function of the endothelium, the cells that line the inside of all blood vessels!
Any more benefits of drinking beet juice found in this study?
Oddly, blisters healed more quickly in the group who drank the nitrate-rich beetroot juice. The researchers believe that the increased levels of nitric oxide helped to speed-up health and healing by switching key immune cells.

Dr Asad Shabbir, Clinical Research Fellow at Queen Mary University of London, said: “Inflammation is vital to protect the body from injury and infection. However, in people with coronary heart disease persistent inflammation can exacerbate the furring of the arteries, making their condition worse and increasing their risk of a heart attack. Our research suggests that a daily glass of beetroot juice could be one way to get inorganic nitrate into our diet to help to interrupt harmful inflammation.”
Ready for your next batch of beet juice?
1. As stated in the study, you need HIGH nitric oxide beet juice. So beet juice with a third-party certification that has been tested high nitric oxide, like PURECLEAN BEET™, is needed to ensure you are getting enough nitric oxide into your body for the expected benefits.
2. When training hard, for maximum results and/or for better recovery, take 1 scoop twice per day for at least 30 days. Tried of beet juice? Try UBEETABREW™ beet-infused coffee for health and performance!
3. Read up on what PURECLEAN BEET's ArteriO2 crystals are; understand what unique factors are need to produce a high quality beet juice powder supplement, like 100% juice from the meat of the beat and high nitric oxide producing soil.
In good health!
